Role Overview
We're looking for a Border Clearance Expeditor responsible for managing and streamlining border operations to ensure the efficient clearance of export and import cargoes. This includes coordinating with the border team, controllers, and external partners to minimize truck standing time, proactively addressing potential delays, and ensuring all documentation is received and processed promptly. The role involves maintaining real-time visibility of truck status, facilitating pre-clearance processes, tracking and analyzing clearance performance, and driving continuous improvements through regular reporting and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating closely with the border team to expedite clearance for both export and import cargo.
- Regularly escalating potential delays to the controllers to minimize truck standing time at the borders.
- Ensuring timely receipt of all necessary documents to facilitate smooth border clearance.
- Conducting proactive follow-ups to ensure pre-alerts are sent to clearing agents from the loading warehouses without delay.
- Generating reports to analyze border clearance performance, aligned with operational and management requirements.
- Triggering border dates and continuously updating truck status to maintain real-time visibility on border operations.
- Monitor border clearance timelines and ensure trucks are cleared within KPI (0–2 days).
- Issue structured escalation communications to clients, controllers, and transporters at each stage of delay.
- Track and report high-risk cases (10+ days) as utmost priority, involving management and finance when required.
- Maintain accurate escalation logs and share daily/weekly clearance performance reports.
- Work closely with Operations Manager and Controllers to implement corrective actions.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in logistics operations, border clearance, or documentation.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and escalation management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple escalations at once.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word); knowledge of Salesforce or transport tracking systems is an advantage.
