The Group Senior Trade Compliance Manager leads the development and oversight of a group-wide trade compliance program, ensuring adherence to import, export, and international trade regulations. The role focuses on driving standardization, best practices, and alignment of compliance processes across all entities. Additionally, it supports broader Ethics & Compliance initiatives, including regulatory compliance, business ethics, financial crime, and data protection. The position requires strong trade compliance expertise, knowledge of aviation regulations, and the ability to collaborate across teams to balance compliance with business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure company-wide compliance with import/export laws, including U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and other relevant regulations.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Group trade compliance program, which includes the group trade compliance policy, and group entity specific trade compliance procedures.
- Support the development, implementation and further enhancement of the group Ethics & Compliance program initiatives. Review and recommend enhancements related to the group compliance policies and procedures (e.g., Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption, etc.) - ensuring alignment with UAE laws, international standards, and evolving business needs.
- Develop, monitor, and report key trade compliance metrics to senior leadership and the Audit, Risk, Compliance Committee as required.
- Manage the development of functional reporting systems, for management, or performance reporting.
- Prepare trend analyses, analysing ethics and compliance data and preparing reports for management.
- Create and maintain dashboards to support executive and board level presentations and briefings
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Master’s degree in law, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in trade compliance, with exposure to multi-jurisdictional environments and complex, matrixed organizations, preferably in the aviation business
- Demonstrated expertise in international trade regulations, including sanctions, export controls, customs compliance, and supply chain risk management.
- Experience in an advisory, center of excellence, or consulting capacity is highly desirable.
- Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence and build relationships across a decentralized structure, with collaborative and diplomatic approach.
- Professional certification in trade compliance is a plus.
