Industry: Logistics & International Freight Forwarding
Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: Up to €45,000 (Depending on Experience)
About Us:
BBL Logistics is part of a long‑established French‑headquartered federation of logistics companies (Inc. Enterprise Freight) operating across multiple markets. Our Irish & UK division, based in Citywest, Dublin, is scaling rapidly, driven by strong performance in customs and international freight operations.
We’re looking for someone who brings energy, accountability, and a “find the next win” mindset to our growing finance team.
The Role:
As our Finance Assistant, you’ll take ownership of key cash control activities — including banking, receivables, payables, and reconciliations — while supporting broader financial control and working closely with our Finance/Treasury Manager.
This is not a passive processing role. You’ll be hands‑on, proactive, and central to maintaining financial integrity as we continue to scale. A strong understanding of cash flow impact and reconciliations is essential.
What will your day to day look like?
You won’t take on everything on week one, but this is the scope of the role as you grow:
Banking & Cash flow
- Daily bank reconciliations across 9 accounts and 3 entities
- Monitoring currency balances and ensuring adequate funds
- Preparing weekly cash flow forecasts
- Managing excess funds and group cash pool transfers
Accounts Receivable
- Active aged debtor management
- Resolving customer queries quickly and professionally
- Ensuring revenue accuracy aligned with freight operations
Accounts Payable
- Managing the full AP cycle in a high‑volume logistics environment
- Supplier account management and discrepancy resolution
- Timely and accurate payment processing
- Supplier statement reconciliations
Reconciliations & Financial Control
- Supplier, customer, inter-company, and bank reconciliations
- Identifying and resolving reconciling items
- Supporting month‑end close and audit processes
Systems & Process Optimisation
- Advanced Excel use for reporting and analysis
- Confident use of accounting/ERP systems
- Identifying automation opportunities
- Leveraging AI‑enabled tools to drive efficiency
What do I need?
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Banking, Accounts Receivable / Payable or Finance operations.
- Accounting/finance qualifications are advantageous, but experience and capability are key
- Comfortable in a fast paced, high-volume environment
- Detail-focused and highly accurate
- Strong MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- IT literate and open to digital/AI tools
- Collaborative team player who communicates clearly
