Supply Chain Specialist – Freight & Logistics
Overview
We are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist (Freight & Logistics) for a 6 month contract to support end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient movement of goods and services from requisition through to final delivery.
This role will focus on logistics coordination, freight management, supplier interaction, and process optimisation, ensuring cost efficiency and timely delivery across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Logistics Operations
- Manage the full lifecycle of purchase orders, from requisition through to delivery
- Coordinate freight, shipping, and logistics activities to ensure timely delivery
- Monitor and track shipments, providing regular updates to stakeholders
- Handle cargo receipt, verification, and material tracking
- Oversee cargo consolidation, labelling, packing, and documentation
Freight & Vendor Management
- Analyse freight options to ensure best cost, transit time, and service levels
- Coordinate with logistics agents and suppliers, including invoicing and performance tracking
- Manage supplier relationships and resolve any delivery or service issues
- Review and validate shipping documentation (AWB, invoices, packing lists, etc.)
Process & Compliance
- Ensure all supply chain activities follow internal policies, procedures, and compliance standards
- Monitor service level agreements and identify areas for improvement
- Manage non-conformities, shortages, damages, and corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement across logistics and supply chain processes
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders on supply chain matters
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams
- Coordinate with finance on invoicing, payments, and dispute resolution
Reporting & Performance
- Provide accurate and timely logistics reporting
- Track delivery performance, costs, and service levels
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience in supply chain / logistics
- Experience in freight, shipping, or logistics coordination
- Strong understanding of supply chain systems and processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
