Job Description
The Operations Executive – Air Freight plays a key role in coordinating and managing air cargo logistics. This position ensures the timely and cost-effective transportation of goods via air while maintaining compliance with international regulations. The role requires close coordination with carriers, freight forwarders, customs, and internal departments to ensure seamless end-to-end operations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate air freight shipments from booking through to final delivery.
- Liaise with airlines, agents, and freight forwarders for flight schedules and space availability.
- Prepare and verify all documentation including airway bills and customs papers.
- Track and monitor shipments, ensuring timely dispatch and delivery.
- Communicate with clients regarding shipment status, delays, or issues.
- Handle rate negotiations and freight cost optimization.
- Ensure compliance with IATA regulations, customs, and security requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and operational activities.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams for smooth coordination.
- Resolve operational issues and provide quick solutions for unforeseen delays.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in air freight operations.
- Strong knowledge of air cargo documentation and processes.
- Familiarity with IATA, cargo handling rules, and customs clearance procedures.
- Proficiency in freight management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure and deadline-driven environment.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
