Job Description:
We are urgently seeking an experienced and proactive Import Purchase In-Charge to oversee and manage all import purchasing activities for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, with a focus on international sourcing, vendor negotiation, and handling of import shipments. FMCG industry experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end import procurement process, including sourcing, negotiations, order placements, and shipment coordination.
- Identify, evaluate, and build strong relationships with international vendors and suppliers.
- Ensure cost-effective purchasing without compromising on quality and delivery timelines.
- Handle all documentation and regulatory compliance related to import shipments.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents, and internal departments to ensure timely and smooth delivery of goods.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, shipment tracking, and vendor performance.
- Monitor market trends and pricing strategies to optimize procurement costs.
- Collaborate with the finance and inventory teams for seamless operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in import procurement, preferably in the FMCG sector.
- Strong knowledge of import procedures, international trade laws, and documentation.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple shipments and suppliers effectively.
- High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Fluent in Hindi (English is an advantage).
