Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Export Control Officer based in Sharjah. The Export Control Officer will be responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with trade and regulatory requirements related to the export and import of goods. Daily tasks include monitoring and enforcing compliance with export control laws, preparing and submitting export license applications, developing and implementing export control policies and procedures, and providing guidance and support on trade compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with global export control and sanctions regulations (US EAR/ITAR, EU, UK, UAE, etc.)
- Manage export licenses, permits, and technology transfer authorizations.
- Screen suppliers, customers, and ERP transactions against restricted party and embargo lists.
- Classify parts, materials, and technology (ECCN, HS codes, ITAR categories).
- Provide guidance to engineering, procurement, and logistics teams on compliance and requirements.
- Conduct staff training and awareness programs on export Control policies.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for audits and authorities.
- Investigate and report potential non-compliance issues, ensuring corrective actions.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, International Tarde, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in export control, trade compliance, or customs within aviation.
- Strong knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and international export regulations.
- Experience in aviation MRO compliance processes is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving mindset.
