About the Role
We are seeking a Procurement Executive to manage the sourcing and purchasing of chemicals, raw materials, and packaging supplies that support our trading and distribution operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the chemical industry, vendor negotiations, and import/export documentation, ensuring material availability, cost efficiency, and quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for chemicals and related materials.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve optimal cost savings.
- Maintain long-term supplier relationships and evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery, and compliance.
- Research and identify new or alternative suppliers to ensure supply chain resilience.
2. Purchasing Operations
- Prepare, issue, and track Purchase Orders (POs) in line with company policies.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve order discrepancies.
- Liaise with logistics teams for import/export documentation, customs clearance, and shipment tracking.
- Maintain accurate procurement data including supplier records, purchase history, and price logs.
- Monitor market trends, chemical price movements, and currency fluctuations to support decision-making.
3. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to company procurement and quality standards.
- Track supplier performance metrics, payment terms, and delivery compliance.
- Support preparation of procurement reports, dashboards, and presentations.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Sales, Technical, and Operations teams to forecast demand and plan procurement schedules.
- Support sourcing of specialty chemicals for new product developments.
- Provide regular updates on order status, lead times, and market developments to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
- 2–3 years of procurement or supply chain experience, ideally within the chemical trading or manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge of chemical raw materials, import/export regulations, and procurement documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills with attention to detail.
