About the Role – Logistics Coordinator (Research)
The Logistics Coordinator (Research) is a support and intelligence-focused role responsible for researching, benchmarking, and analyzing logistics options to enable efficient movement of materials, equipment, and supplies across projects. This role supports procurement and operations teams by providing cost, route, vendor, and lead-time intelligence before execution.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Research & Market Intelligence
- Conduct market research on transporters, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers
- Benchmark transport costs, routes, transit times, and service capabilities
- Research logistics options for local, inter-emirate, and international shipments
- Track fuel trends, transport regulations, and logistics cost drivers
Cost & Route Analysis
- Prepare cost comparison sheets for different transport and logistics options
- Analyze route efficiency, turnaround time, and risk factors
- Support budget planning and cost optimization initiatives through data insights
Coordination & Documentation Support
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, site, and logistics teams to understand movement requirements
- Maintain a structured database of transporters, rates, routes, and performance records
- Support preparation of logistics plans, approvals, and justifications
- Maintain documentation to support audit, compliance, and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering
- 3–6 years of experience in logistics coordination, transport research, or supply chain analysis roles
- Exposure to construction, industrial, or project-based logistics is preferred
- Experience in UAE / GCC logistics markets is an advantage
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of logistics operations and transport ecosystems
- Excellent research, benchmarking, and analytical skills
- Ability to prepare cost and route comparison reports
- Strong coordination and communication skills across multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS Excel, reporting tools, and documentation systems
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, cost efficiency, and data integrity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
