The Logistics Executive is responsible for assisting with the team and cost effective, quality-orientated day-to-day running of the logistics function. Ensuring the planning and critical logistical solutions are managed to strict deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for documentation regarding clearance, freight forwarding, transportation, stock management etc.
- Responsible for monitoring logistic market trends useful to the company and sourcing of supplies.
- Acquiring competitive freight charges (Air, Road & Sea)
- Arrange for movement of materials locally and internationally.
- Preparing quotations for Export/Import.
- Proper maintenance, retention and compilation of customs documents.
- Familiar with online custom procedures.
- Responsible for the overall tender supply (procurement cycle)
- Prepare purchase orders on daily basis.
- Correspondence with the Clients/Customers with regard all to the procurement matters
- Maintain liaison with the suppliers.
- Issue Monthly Sit-rep/(Stock-report) to the Clients/Customers
- Maintain procurement records for tracking purposes, delivery status, payments, reports and audit purposes.
- Review the requirements to determine the most suitable suppliers.
- Negotiate with pre-selected suppliers to determine the best commercial terms. (Price, specifications, warranty, delivery and payment terms) & assist with the clearing of Invoice discrepancies.
- Study local / International procurement trends to ensure optimal utilization of resources and make recommendations for improvements of internal systems and methods.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
• Good knowledge of shipping documentation and warehouse processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics/ERP systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience with logistics software or ERP systems such as SAP ERP is preferred.
• Knowledge of UAE import/export and customs procedures is preferred.
• Prior experience in the humanitarian aid or logistics sector is an advantage
