Job Summary
Responsible to take full ownership of our freight operations. This role is critical to streamlining shipping processes, reducing operational costs, ensuring full compliance with local and international regulations, and enhancing overall efficiency in our logistics and supply chain functions.
Job Responsibilities
Freight Management & Coordination:
- Manage end-to-end international and domestic freight forwarding operations (air, sea, and land).
- Coordinate booking, routing, consolidation, and shipment tracking to ensure timely deliveries.
- Liaise with carriers, freight agents, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers.
- Monitor and resolve shipping disruptions, ensuring minimal delays and smooth delivery.
Cost Optimization & Negotiation
- Negotiate competitive rates with freight carriers and service providers.
- Consolidate shipments where applicable to reduce freight costs.
- Minimize costs through efficient planning, load optimization, and contract management.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure full compliance with UAE and international trade regulations, customs clearance procedures, and safety standards.
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate shipping documentation (B/L, invoices, certificates of origin, etc.).
- Minimize risk of fines, penalties, or shipment holds due to documentation errors.
Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the main point of contact for all freight forwarding inquiries and issue resolution.
- Provide proactive communication and timely updates to internal teams and external partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align shipping schedules with business needs.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of all shipments and freight transactions.
- Analyze logistics performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on freight costs, transit performance, and service provider KPIs.
Process Improvement & Strategic Planning
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce overhead.
- Support scalability by developing freight solutions aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in freight forwarding or international logistics, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE customs regulations, international shipping laws, and INCOTERMS.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
