Purpose of the Job
The Freight Operations Supervisor will lead the Air/Ocean Import and Export team, ensuring effective supervision, operational excellence, and compliance with company standards. This role requires strong leadership and strong people engagement skills, coordination and communication to maintain high performance and service quality.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations for both air and sea freight products.
- Raise and address issues proactively with management and the operations team to maintain open communication.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements as and where required
- Maintain and update operational SOPs; ensure team compliance and understanding for operational processes.
- Uphold Aramex Aviation Officer Role and responsibilities for compliance.
- Negotiate rates and maintain relationships with partners and clients alike
- Participate in KPI performance appraisals and objective setting.
Operational Duties:
- Co-ordinate bookings from clients through team
- Oversee customs handling through Aramex in-house brokerage team
- Arrange transport and coordinate with airline handling and shipping line agents.
- Pre-alert handling agents
- Updating of shipment milestones, data integrity to be upheld within system
- Oversee Billing and financial handling for all shipments.
- Oversee customer and accounts queries promptly.
Job Requirements - Experience and Education Essential:
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in freight forwarding, with a focus on air and ocean operations.
- Dangerous Goods handling
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role with emphasis around people engagement with a curiosity around departmental processes to enhance team productivity
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures and international shipping regulations.
- Proficiency in freight management systems (Cargowise/Azyra).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and billing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Desirable:

- Experience with Life Science or temperature-sensitive cargo
- Familiarity with AEO compliance and CAPA processes.
- Formal training or certification in logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding.
