Job Summary:
The Procurement Incharge will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management of spare parts, raw materials, consumables, and services required for the automotive industry. This role ensures timely procurement at the best value while maintaining quality, compliance, and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s automotive operations.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of parts and materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores/warehouse to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and agreements in compliance with company policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure adherence to performance, quality, and delivery standards.
- Track market trends, new products, and supplier developments within the automotive sector.
- Collaborate with technical, engineering, and production teams to ensure correct specifications of purchased items.
- Manage import/export documentation and coordinate with logistics partners for timely clearance and delivery.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives while ensuring quality standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and health & safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical/Automobile Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 4–6 years of procurement experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of spare parts, automotive components, and industry suppliers.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Odoo or similar).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs clearance (advantage).
