We are looking for an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join our Commercial Team. This role is responsible for winning new business across the Uniserve Group and associated businesses, developing a strong pipeline of opportunities, and driving sustainable revenue growth.
Acting as a senior commercial ambassador for Uniserve, you will develop relationships with new and existing clients, promote the full range of multimodal services, and work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional solutions. This is a nationally focused, field‑based role, requiring high levels of activity, professionalism, and commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Win new business across all areas of the Uniserve Group and associated businesses
- Build, manage, and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
- Achieve and exceed assigned financial and non‑financial sales targets
- Maintain a national external sales presence, with regular face‑to‑face client meetings
- Develop revenue from existing clients through additional services and value‑added solutions
- Represent Uniserve at trade fairs, expos, and industry events
- Provide expert commercial advice and support to customers and internal colleagues
- Implement the Business Development strategy internally across relevant teams
- Mentor and support Sales Administrators in developing their skills and capabilities
- Maintain accurate CRM records, meeting reports, and client freight profiles
- Support the Commercial Director and Business Leaders with input on new and existing services
- Promote Uniserve professionally at all times, ensuring a strong brand presence
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager within logistics or supply chain
- Strong multimodal knowledge across air, ocean, road, customs, and supply chain solutions
- A track record of winning new business and delivering profitable growth
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage and negotiate at Director level
- Strong commercial awareness with a clear understanding of margins and profitability
- Excellent networking, relationship‑building, and presentation skills
- High levels of organisation, diary management, and self‑motivation
- Ability to travel nationally, with an expectation of 2-3 days per week on the road
- Proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting
- Full, clean driving licence
