Senior Manager – Ports & Terminals Solutions
About the RoleWe’re hiring for a global leader in logistics, trade, and smart infrastructure that is driving large-scale digital transformation across port and terminal operations. The Senior Manager – P&T Solutions will be responsible for the end-to-end design, architecture, and delivery of IT solutions that directly enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and business value.
This role is central to enabling digital transformation within terminal operations, ensuring that technology not only supports but accelerates the enterprise’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Business-IT Alignment – Translate operational requirements into technical solutions to streamline workflows and enable automation.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with business users to identify and resolve system bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Strategic Planning – Develop and maintain project roadmaps aligned with enterprise goals.
- CAPEX & ROI Analysis – Prepare business cases, ROI justifications, and payback period analyses for IT initiatives.
- Change Impact Assessment – Evaluate proposed change requests, highlighting risks and benefits.
- Demand Management & Prioritization – Facilitate demand review and prioritization based on ROI and strategic impact.
- Solution Delivery Leadership – Oversee solution design and guide technical teams to successful delivery.
- Vendor & Resource Coordination – Allocate internal resources and manage vendor partnerships to meet delivery and quality standards.
- Project Monitoring & Reporting – Track deliverables, produce regular status reports, and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Team Development – Mentor junior staff, strengthen domain expertise, and build project management capabilities.
- Testing & Quality Assurance – Partner with QA teams to validate system functionality and ensure smooth UAT.
- Budget & Planning – Support preparation of annual IT budgets and long-term roadmap planning.
- Execution – Deliver assignments with professionalism, timeliness, and measurable impact.
Technical Competencies- Strong grounding in Java, Oracle PL/SQL, or Python for guiding development decisions.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, RESTful APIs, modular code design.
- Expertise in Oracle databases (data modeling, query optimization, backup).
- Experience with data governance and integrity standards.
- Proven ability to integrate IT systems with external entities (Customs, Port Authorities, Security).
- Expertise in API orchestration, data mapping, secure transmission standards.
- Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ for real-time messaging.
- Knowledge of REST/SOAP web services and data formats (JSON, XML, EDI).
- Exposure to computer vision for gate OCR, container surveillance, or damage detection.
- Experience embedding AI/ML models into operational workflows (TensorFlow, OpenCV).
- Knowledge of IoT integration (quay cranes, OCR gates, VMTs).
- Ability to design and review terminal automation, ERP, TOS, and integration layers.
- Experience with data lakes, ETL pipelines, dashboards (Power BI, Oracle BI).
- Track record leading large-scale IT programs from inception to deployment.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, ISR standards, and data protection policies.
Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Management (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years in software development or IT management, ideally within ports and terminals.
