Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Steel Logistics Coordinator / Supply Chain to manage the full cycle of steel procurement, logistics, and delivery. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in steel trading, supply chain management, or industrial logistics, with strong knowledge of international shipping, customs regulations, and trade compliance to ensure smooth and timely movement of steel products from suppliers to customers while optimizing cost and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage steel procurement activities, including sourcing, order placement, and supplier coordination.
- Liaise with mills, traders, and freight forwarders to confirm orders, shipment schedules, and delivery terms.
- Review purchase orders, pro forma invoices, and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Plan and coordinate the shipments with shipping lines, freight forwarders.
- Monitor vessel schedules, container bookings, and port operations to avoid any delays.
- Ensure compliance with Incoterms, customs regulations, and international trade laws.
- Prepare and review all shipping and trade documentation (bills of lading, packing lists, certificates of origin, inspection reports).
- Coordinate with clients for on-time deliveries while ensuring quality and quantity requirements are met.
- Resolve logistical issues quickly to avoid supply chain disruptions.
- Provide regular updates to management and clients on shipment status.
- Negotiate freight and handling costs with shipping lines, transport companies, and agents.
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency and reduce overall supply chain costs.
- Monitor market trends (freight rates, steel demand, regulatory changes) to anticipate challenges.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in steel logistics, supply chain, or international trade (metals/commodities background strongly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of steel products and their handling requirements.
- Solid understanding of global shipping practices, Incoterms, customs clearance.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Fluency in English (Arabic or other languages is an advantage).
