Job Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
· Oversee daily operations of the freight forwarding department, including Sea, Air and Land transportation.
· Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and transportation laws.
· Implement and optimize logistics strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
· Maintain good relationships with customs officials & other government institutions & ensure accuracy of all documents & procedures to avoid penalties.
· Maintain and build strong relationships with overseas agents & freight networks.
Financial Performance:
· Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
· Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
· Overlook the contract negotiations handled by the pricing team with carriers, suppliers, and clients to maximize profitability.
· Maintain and build strong relationships with CRMs in Banks.
· Ontime generation of reports: Audit reports/ sales revenue/ sales performance/ collection from the market
· Ensure that audit reports are submitted on time & overlook finance team's activities in the yearly financial audits.
Customer Relationship Management:
· Maintain and build strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
· Develop strategies to improve customer satisfaction and retention.
· Oversee company insurance concerning cargo & freight forwarder liability.
· Develop procedures involving digital technology which is more user friendly for customers to work with ADSO.
Team Leadership:
· Lead, motivate, and manage Sea, Air & Land freight department managers.
· Conduct performance evaluations, make development & growth plan & provide training and development opportunities.
· Foster a positive and productive work environment.
· Ensure employee satisfaction/ benefits/ staff retention.
Strategic Planning:
· Develop and implement business strategies to achieve growth and competitive advantage.
· Identify new business opportunities and markets for expansion.
· Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes & implement those new strategies in the company.
· Develop contingency plans and conduct periodic business continuity plan review meetings.
Quality Control:
· Ensure high standards of service delivery and operational efficiency.
· Implement quality control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs).
· Ontime renewal of ISO certifications.
Risk Management:
· Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
· Ensure compliance with safety and security standards (Trade sanctions, Restricted goods).
· Manage and resolve operational disruptions and emergencies.
Qualification
· Bachelors in business administration or MBA with 15 years of Experience in Freight Forwarding in UAE market.
· At least 8 years in a managerial/supervisory role
· Established network of freight partners, carriers, and agents.
· Knowledge of UAE logistics market and free zone operations
· Fluent in English (Arabic or other languages are a plus)
· Strong understanding of customs regulations, import/export documentation, and international shipping terms (Incoterms).
· Hands-on experience in budget management, P&L responsibility, and strategic business development
