Job Purpose
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for managing and monitoring logistics activities related to movement of materials in and out of Jebel Ali Free Zone. The role includes handling gate pass applications, maintaining customs-related records, coordinating with internal departments, and assisting in transportation arrangements to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Gate Pass Management
§ Prepare, apply, and follow up on gate passes for incoming and outgoing shipments/materials.
§ Ensure compliance with JAFZA regulations and internal company policies regarding gate passes.
Customs & Documentation
§ Maintain accurate customs documentation and records for all import/export and local transfer transactions.
§ Ensure all logistics activities comply with UAE Customs, JAFZA, and relevant regulatory requirements.
§ Coordinate with clearing agents, freight forwarders, and customs officials when required.
Coordination with Departments
§ Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and project teams to facilitate timely clearance and movement of materials.
§ Liaise with finance for payments related to logistics and customs.
Transportation & Delivery Support
§ Assist in planning and arranging transportation for outgoing deliveries.
§ Ensure delivery schedules are met by coordinating with transport service providers.
§ Track shipments and resolve any issues related to delays or documentation.
Reporting & Record Keeping
§ Maintain up-to-date logs of shipments, gate passes, and customs records for audits and internal review.
§ Provide regular updates and reports to management on logistics activities.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2-4 years ofrelevant experience in logistics operations, preferably within JAFZA or UAE Free Zones.
• Strong knowledge of JAFZA gate pass procedures, customs regulations, and free zone compliance.
• Good coordination and communication skills to work across multiple depa1tments.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.
