eMagine are working with a leading freight and logistics company in Dubai to hire an Operations and Customs Lead to lead and oversee their customs and import activities across air and sea freight. This is a replacement role due to an internal promotion and offers a clear path to future branch leadership as the business expands regionally.
The role is hands-on and focused on operational excellence. You will supervise a team of four coordinators, ensuring they operate efficiently through a bespoke TMS system.
You’ll manage 400+ files a month, primarily import cargo (50% air, 50% sea), with occasional DG, OOG, and pharma consignments.
We are looking for someone who:
- Brings deep knowledge of UAE customs processes (FZ transfers, temporary import, duty exemption)
- Can navigate operational challenges and proactively engage with Dubai Trade, DP World, and customs officials to resolve escalations
- Has strong team management skills, ensuring staff are motivated, compliant, and productive
- Understands freight documentation processes and works seamlessly with back-office and transport partners
- Can drive operational improvement and handle high-volume throughput without reliance on manual systems or spreadsheets
The role is Dubai-focused for now, with future potential to support the Jeddah and Abu Dhabi branches (launching Q1 2026).
This position reports to senior leadership and sits at the heart of a high-performing logistics operation.
